GOAL 1:\u00a0 SUPPORT TO LOCAL LEADERS AND CITIZENS TO PLAN AND COMPLETE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS THEY HAVE DETERMINED ARE NEEDED TO CREATE SUSTAINABLE LOCAL AND REGIONAL COMMUNITIES.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE 1:<\/b>\u00a0 Assist local and regional organizations build the organizational capacity to set and meet their local and regional development goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE 2:<\/b>\u00a0 Assist local and regional organizations build their financial capacity to set and meet their local and regional development goals.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

GOAL 2:\u00a0 INCREASE THE DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF NEW OR IMPROVED NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT METHODS AND TECHNOLOGIES THAT INCREASE NET PROFITS AND ARE NATURAL RESOURCE SUSTAINING.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n

OBJECTIVE 3:\u00a0<\/span><\/b> To increase the successful use of profitable and sustainable natural resource management through support to the agricultural industry, to secure funds for producers to gain access to technical and financial assistance for natural resource management systems.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE 4:\u00a0<\/b> Provide guidance and support services to local government and organizations to complete assessments and implementation plans for targeted Total Maximum Daily Load Watersheds in the Lower James River Watershed and in the Missouri River Watershed to restore and maintain needed water quality.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

GOAL 3:\u00a0CREATE QUALITY JOBS TO STABILIZE POPULATIONS, STRENGTHEN THE LOCAL ECONOMY, AND BROADEN ACCESS FOR CITIZENS TO HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

OBJECTIVE 5:\u00a0<\/span><\/b> Increase employment and reduce underemployment\u00a0by strengthening existing businesses (production\/processing\/service) through increased access to business management support, and access to technical and financial support.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE 6:\u00a0<\/b> Increase visitor sales and create or retain 50 jobs through assistance to tourism, recreation, and agri-tourism businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE 7:\u00a0 <\/strong>Provide assistance to businesses and organizations to increase the development of renewable energy sources (wind, ethanol, biodiesel, biomass, methane, etc.) in the Lower James RC&D area and increase community sustainability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
